GDES3003 SELECTED FINAL STUDENT SUBMISSIONS - ZCB BRIEF 2021

We've largely virtually worked around the Covid restrictions this semester with this latest live design brief for the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales. The main 'ask' was to deliver a set of student visual communication concepts linked to CAT's Zero Carbon Britain brief.

The key aims of the brief were to provide clear visual information about proactive ways the public can lessen their personal carbon footprints. The visuals had to be amendable as files so that they could remain a generic message but still work in various different geographic places across the UK. Another 'ask' from the client was to consider how to work in the idea of a 'green recovery' as we slowly come out of Covid restrictions.

“John and I have reviewed the three samples you sent (at marking point), we were very impressed with the student's engagement with the brief and their appreciation of what is needed to reach net zero.

Please do pass on to the students how impressed we are with the work they have done - they really listened to what we wanted as clients.”

Amanda Smith, Training Manager and John Challen, Head of Eco Centre, Centre for Alternative Technology, Machynlleth, Wales.

Here's a set of selected student outputs to help show the different ways in which our students tackled the brief.
