GDES3003 VISIT TO THE CENTRE FOR ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGY, 2018

Excellent sunny day over with the staff at the Centre for Alternative Technology in mid Wales today.. Students have been set a 'live' project by staff at CAT linked to the 'Zero Carbon Britain' initiative. Here's a few quick phone pics of our day over there.

A quick overview of the day's events and why..

Just after we'd arrived at the top of the water-powered capsules.

CAT's Graphic Designer John welcomes students and gives a short history of CAT.

CAT's Graphic Designer John talks us through some of the considerations behind existing and past outputs.

Paul Allen gets students to think like they're a new group - 'Zero Carbon Worcester'

Students listen to Paul in the Sheppard lecture theatre.

The courtyard at CAT.

The amazing Sheppard lecture theatre - made of compressed layers of earth.

One of the features on site.

Students listen to Paul sum up his points.

A sunny view over to the WISE building on site.

Willow sculptures on site at CAT.

Looking  around the excellent shop on site..

All ready to go on the minibus home..

It's not all "work, work, work" - the students have a giggle at my shiny-new CAT T-shirt
which I'd quickly put on after buying it I was so pleased with it..
