Questions For Clients

We'll use this post as a constant place to post Q's to client[s]. We'll alert Jennie to this so that she's able to get back as comments as and when she's able in her working week.

  • What food would they pair these beers with?
  • What are their two best selling beers?
  • What recipes would they recommend using them in?

    Hi Nicole,

    Our 2 best selling beers are Butty Bach and HPA.
    Butty is a burnished gold premium ale with rich, malty flavours - great with mustardy sausages with apple.

    HPA is a pale straw coloured ale with a delicate citrus hop aroma, great with lighter dishes, such as lemony chicken or mussels (especially when they are cooked with HPA)!

    Dorothy Goodbody's Golden Ale is great with Mediterranean and North African dishes such as a flavoursome chicken tagine.

    Dorothy Goodbody's Wholesome Stout is perfect with slow cooked meaty dishes where the juices have deliciously caramelised. Also fantastic with chocolate brownies!

    Dorothy Goodbody's Country Ale is great with game pies or full flavoured artisan cheeses and also rich fruit cakes.

    In terms of recipes:

    Butty Bach - great in a fish batter for sublime fish and chips. Also makes a rich tasty pork in beer stew.

    HPA - use in place of wine for a delicious alternative to Moules Mariniere.

    Dorothy Goodbody's Golden Ale - try in vegetable pakoras or hearty rabbit stew.

    Dorothy Goodbody's Wholesome Stout - fantastic in beer and onion soup, and also chocolate cake!

    I like them best when they are really suited to the context e.g. 'Into every life a little ale must pour' is printed on our new polypin box just above where the tap comes out of the box for people to pour their beer from. However for a gift pack these 3 could work well:
    - No. 9 'A LITTLE BOX OF WHAT YOU FANCY DOES YOU GOOD'
    - No. 39 'TASTING IS BELIEVING'
    - No. 7 'INTO EVERY LIFE A LITTLE ALE MUST POUR'
    Unless anyone can think of anything better relating to this pack?

    Hi Jennie,
    As part of my design, I'm coming up with ideas for the pop-out pieces that you said just get thrown out. I've been thinking of turning them into beer mats. Would these be better designed for the brewery itself or would it be a good idea to include the beer mats in the gift pack for the customers to use at home?
